~ ShootersPages Polls ~

Trophies, Nothing, or STUFF!

There is a percentage of us who don't want trophies at all. Why? Well, some may have "so many" that the novelty has worn off, while others may want the shoots to be less expensive due to the club not including trophies.

But, many of us yearn for a 1st place trophy in our class, concurrent, or maybe even a trophy for HOA.

American Shooting Centers does something unique. At the monthly shoots (not the special, big events), they give out certificates to the winners. On the back, it says you may redeem the certificate for a trophy which they will order upon request, or you may choose a specified number of boxes of shells, or you may choose a specified number of targets.

What's your opinion?
I love this idea. I hope many clubs adopt this concept.
This concept is fine, but I prefer variety by having different clubs doing different things.
I don't like this idea. I don't want ANY prizes, just lower fees.

Honor System to Certified Scorers

Sporting Clays is mostly FUN! But, face it, it's a highly competitive sport. This poll will attempt to find out if the shoot's scoring method determines whether or not you will attend that competition. Please answer the 4 questions based upon the NSCA class you are in now.

For B, A, AA, and Master Class Shooters only: Would you attend a competition that has the honor system? This is where competitors score for themselves and there are no trappers or squad leaders to score your hits/misses?
never
yes, only if fee is cheaper
yes

For E, D, and C Class Shooters only: Would you attend a competition that has the honor system? This is where competitors score for themselves and there are no trappers or squad leaders to score your hits/misses?
never
yes, only if fee is cheaper
yes

For B, A, AA, and Master Class Shooters only: Would you attend a competition that has competitors score for themselves however there is a designated "field judge" shooting with each squad? The field judge is someone reputed to be knowledgeable and honest.
never
yes, only if fee is cheaper
yes

NSCA Nationals: Sept or Oct?

This past Nationals was a month later due to the tragic events of 9/11/01. Having now experienced Nationals during Sept. and Nov., let's hear which month YOU would prefer to have the NSCA Nationals in the future.

In which month would you prefer the NSCA Nationals held?
Either month is equally good
I slightly prefer Sept.
I slightly prefer Oct.
I strongly prefer Sept
I strongly prefer Oct.
I will attend ONLY if in Sept.
I will attend ONLY if in Oct.

LOCATION FOR TX STATE SKEET SHOOT

The following is a request by Jay McGregor:
I would be interested in a poll which asked Texas Skeet shooters were they would prefer future Texas State Skeet Championships to take place.  Currently the state shoot is in San Antonio. We in Waco and north Texas feel it should move northward, at least periodically. My suggested poll questions:

Results

Where would you prefer future Texas State Skeet Championships be held?

Always San Antonio/NatGunClub (44%)

Alternate S.A./Waco each yr (31%)

Always in Waco (20%)

S.A. 2 yrs then Waco 1 yr (5%)

S.A. 3 yrs then Waco 1 yr (0%)

"NO FRILLS" SHOOTS

Occasionally, in an effort to save money (and keep entry fees lower) clubs will have squads pull and score for themselves. What is your opinion regarding this setup and what is the MAXIMUM you are willing to pay for a  "No Frills Shoot"? That is, a shoot where you score/pull (when remote controlled) for your squad, has few and lower cost trophies/awards, and no food is included.

Are you OK with having this type of shoot being an NSCA Punch shoot or should it be for Fun shoots (no punches) only?
OK to have for NSCA shoots
Have for Fun shoots only

How how much are you willing to pay for a "No Frills" shoot?

Lewis Class vs. Punch Shoots
There is much discussion regarding whether or not we should have Lewis Class shoots as registered shoots. What's your opinion?

My opinion of Lewis Class shoots (as registered shoots) is:
they are great, get rid of punch shoots.
they are good, have both type shoots.
I don't like them, but it's OK to have them.
they are bad, ban Lewis Class registered shoots.
